17x9.5 +17 on a protege?
is it possible? will it hit the coilover? what size tire?
there are some for sale locally and i really want them, but not local enough that i can just waste gas test fitting them if i can help it...

you wont have a problem hitting the strut or coilover, and tire size depends on what your willing to do to make them fit, if your going to try and fit them to an aggressive pull, id say a 225/40. but thats going to poke ALOT, you might have to get flares or some other type of bodywork. if the wheels are a good price and you can do the work go for it, sounds like a crazy wheel.

You can fit that with a 205/40 and around 2-3 degrees of camber depending on how close you get to the strut.
It wont be "safe" and you sure as hell wont be able to hit a corner at speed, but im sure you already know that.
