Thread: MS3 Gen2 with 18x9 and 245/40/18's?

    Default MS3 Gen2 with 18x9 and 245/40/18's?

    I googled this and I haven't seen this on a gen2.

I have a set of Rota Boosts, 18x9 +20 wrapped with 245/40/18 rubber just sitting in storage from my old car (*sigh* I really miss my RX-8). I'm trying to avoid buying a whole round of tires (unfortunately I'll still have to buy 2 because one of the tires has, not one, but TWO nails in it; the treads almost gone anyway). Will this work WITHOUT rolling the fenders? I will be lowering the car soon (coil overs). Maybe an inch lower.

No it will not work without a fender roll, and a little cutting. Also, will not work if you go too low.

    Thank's for the reply.

I was afraid of this (dog on it!!!). Well I guess for the time being I could have the stock 225/40/18's "stretched" on to the 18x9's. But that will kind of look goofy. I'm going to look around for some pics of that.

That's not going to be very much of a stretch, and you'll still need a fender roll anyways. Also I hope you have some camber adjustment or they'll be poking quite a bit depending on your ride height.

I'll be at stock height for a little while. Do I need to roll the fenders still or can I wait till I lower it? By the way, do I need to roll all four fenders or just the rear???

If you're stock height it'll look like a 4x4 with the tires sticking out, lol, wait until you get coilovers. You'll need to toll the rears at least, but I'd do all four while you're at it.

Yeah, if you do not get a fender roll at stock height in the rear, you will be shredding your tires slowly when the car travels. Gonna have tire noodles everywhere.
