18 x 9.75 with 215s?

Hey Everyone!

I was cruising one of my local boards and I came upon a set of XXR 527s (18x9.75 et +20). I just got a set of Federal 595s (215/40/18) on my current wheels and I was thinking about the possibility of taking the tires off and mounting them to the XXRs.

I imagine the stretch on the wheels would be fairly aggressive. Are there any other things I need to be thinking about when it comes to a wheel of this width/offset? I know there are a few people on the board that are running something similar if not more aggressive.

At the moment I run 18x9 et30 with fenders rolled, BC coils, and SPC camber arms in the rear. I have an 09 MS3.

Well its gonna be fine, swapping the tires over and such. The only thing you will have to be worried about is that it will be 20mm more than your current setup of x9 +30. Either you will have to camber more or just leave it poked 20mm more.

Cool. Camber is fine by me. They look like a nice set of wheels so hopefully it'll work out.

Actually those 595's run pretty wide so it won't be that aggressive of a stretch. I've seen them on 18x9.5's and it's nowhere near how stretched my Falkens are on my 18x9.5's.

hey man can i get pics of what the stretched looked like? im trying to decide if i want 215/40 or 225/40 on 18x9.5 since the 595s are wider

I wouldn't do a 225/40, that's gonna be too tall. How low are you gonna be? 215/40 will be a moderate stretch with the Federals. I have 215/35 Federals on 18x10's. I used to run 215/40 Falkens on 9.5's but they were rubbing the fenders when I started getting low.

Nah and I've been running them for a while. Best looking stretch in my opinion.

No one will consider that safe. But it is possible. Just remember to always look at your pressure. I have only tried 215/40 & 205/40 on a 9.5 and a 10...never had an issue with those.
