    Default coilover questions

alright before i even ask i would just like to say, i am a poor teenager and am looking into buying coils. there are currently two options. option 1- used tein basic coilovers. decently rusted but im told the height adjusters still turn all the way down. option 2- raceland coilovers. yes i know everyone thinks theyre terrible but my friend has them on his gti and it rides decent for cheap coils. please dont down talk these unless you have personal experience. im looking to go really low and am wondering if any of you guys have personal experience or friends that have used these coils or know how low they can go. thanks

These Racelands are pretty much maxed out, and even removing the helper springs like you will see it says in the thread will not make it really low at all: http://mazdafitment.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1205
I do not think Teins will go really low either.

Guaranteed low are BC Racings or Stance coilovers. Most bang for the buck and come with everything you need to go low, adjustment, camber, etc...

Coilovers without camber plates are useless.

Racelands are shit from everything I've read. Grab some Ksports or BC's. I love my Ksports but not sure how low they'll go on a 3. I have quite a bit of adjustment left on my ksports to drop at least another inch in the rear and 3+ inches up front. I do know BC extreme drop or something kit will give you a sweet stance though.

If you can get the Teins for under 300, get them. I found a set for a steal and thats what I was on for a while. They get low enough and if you want more low you can get shorter springs. Yeah no camber adjustment but being a "broke teenager" i know what its like and most likely wont be getting wheels for a while more also. (i was on rx8's for a good 6 months after geting coilovers lol)

They make Stance Coils for our car but like 4 people run them if that.

@lax22pearl do you have any pics of your car dropped on the teins? and would probably get swift replacement springs if they arent too expensive

thats with 18x9.5 +22. perfect fit in the front for a first gen speed with no camber adjustment imo

I personally like raceland coilovers I know it's an MF.com sin if you use them but they get pretty low but idk if your plannin on slamming the shit outta your ride then go with BC's, Megan's, KW's etc. the only bad thing is that you have to reuse your stock top mounts(pillow ball mounts)

    How old are the BCs?

If they truly are before extreme drops basically remove all the rings but you will run into the issue of the cartridges being long and limiting the drop.

(editing posts no longer works here for me)

Ya, I didn't know people still converted.

That's what I did, one of the first sucked at the time.
