    Exclamation xDJ DUBx's 03.5 Pure White LX-T

    Outline
For those of you who don't know, I'm Greg and I have a modding problem. I got this car as a gift from my lovely grandmother for my first car on 1/7/07. It was bought used from a Mitsubishi dealer for just under 7,000 and she had 77,399 miles on her. At the time I got the car I was 15 and had only had my permit for about 2 months. Now 19, I still love this car as much as I did day one. To date, my biggest accomplishments are ATX to MTX Swap, Full GT2554R Turbo Kit Install, 03.5 Exterior Swap, MP3 Interior Swap, 5 Lug Rear Disc Brake Swap and Protege5 Headlight Conversion. Outside of the paint, all work has been done with me and my buddies' own hands.

    Boostin' Is A Habit
After talking to many people and becoming very curious about boost because of J-Naoto, I looked into a almost complete kit and was ready to buy, deal fell through but I didn't wanna give up on boost so I decided to piece my own kit together co-piloted by mr. J-Naoto himself. I don't want a whole lot, just a msp setup with fmic, upgraded wga, bov, upgraded oil and water lines then eventually a corksport downpipe and split second AFC but that'll come later. I am hoping to be ready to install boost by Mid-October. Update: Boost has been successfully installed 10.17.09 and I'm loving every minute of it!!

Current Status: She was missing really bad yesterday so I pulled the spark plugs and cylinder 4 had a puddle of oil sitting on top of the piston. Considering the motor is now a ticking time bomb, she has been permanently parked until I have the time/motor to swap the other motor in. While shes in the middle of the swap, I will also be getting my High Flow cat welded into my Corksport exhaust and I will be getting the metal nipple for the BPV moved to before the MAF so I won't be doubling up the recirculated air.

Thanks bro, I want to come out more but I had a strong feeling this was gonna happen and I didn't want to blow the motor/turbo. Once the new motor is in, I should be showing up a lot more often.

lol, you don't know your proteges Albert. All 01-03 proteges have 2.0 motors, the 99-00 proteges either have a 1.6 or 1.8.

Plus, it wouldn't be a straight drop in anyways, the harness is pretty different from what I've read.

Was talking to a relative of mine, and I think I'm going to say fuck it and get a re-built motor. I'm gonna see if I can find a place that takes usable motors as cores for refunds. I think this will be my x-mas present, so my car won't have me biting my nails everyday from being scared, will this day be the last?!?!

Oh yeah, no forge, I don't ever plan on getting a bigger turbo and the gt25r is just fine on stock internals, I just need to get a tuning solution to be safe.

Started her up today, figured after 16 days she'd be about dead, which she was. I put her on a charger for a bit then started her up. Sounded good. Took it for a spin around the block, it was very short, I had to drive slow, and she ran like shit, but it still put a smile on my face.

My TT wasn't working though. The whole time it just had all the icons lit up like it does when u turn it on, even after I turned the car off, it stayed on. I had to disconnect the wires so it'd turn off. I turn the car on again and it did its load then showed three backwards Cs like

    ______
    _| _| _|

and stayed like that. It turned off with the car but the TT won't do anything. Maybe it got shorted out?

My grams has agreed to pay for half an engine rebuild, I need about $500 and I'll have $300 by x-mas, hopefully more after x-mas. Then the p5 motor will get sent off to get rebuilt, once it comes back, I'll swap it in. Once shes running good, I'm going to vegas to get some 5zigens(for free!!) and try to sell them when I get back to fund my SSAFC and Wideband then tunneeee!!

I was planning on starting school this spring but the only offer body shop 1 in fall and body shop 2 in spring so I have to wait til fall next year, shitty BUT at least my money won't be tied up for a few more months. I'd really like to get some 17x8 Hyper Black Rota Boost and have the RHs as a second set.

    lolz

Got everything unhooked and ready to pull the motor, took our time and lost the light so we'll do it tomorrow. I think the only thing needed to be done is unhook the clutch line and throttle cable then out she comes!

Pulled the motor, was a breeze, that means I've done this one too many times. lol.

I can't wait to get back over there and give the engine bay a GOOD cleaning while everything is out.

As she sits now, waiting for the motor to come back...

Finally got some p5 spoiler mock up pics thanks to my buddy holding it in place. lol.

If fitted correctly, I think it'll look pretty sweet. Its a bit wide and needs a bit of modification but we'll see what we can do.

I also took pics of the oil line and coolant line/throttle body bypass setup for anyone who was interested, such as non-turbo people who are going to, who can't get the image in their head of how it will look.
