The Mazda 5 Channel Meeting celebrates one of the most unique chapters in Mazda’s history. During the late 1980s through the late 1990s, Mazda introduced its innovative 5 channel sales strategy, creating five distinct brands: Mazda, Autozam, Efini, Eunos, and Autorama. Each brand offered its own unique styling and trim packages while sharing the same vehicle platforms, leaving a lasting legacy that continues to inspire enthusiasts today.
5 Channel Meeting Volume 4 was held again at the Toyota Museum in Aichi, Japan, bringing together an incredible collection of vehicles from this iconic era.
A special thank you to SHOTA for organizing another amazing event for the community, and to IKASPEED for once again providing outstanding photo coverage. Enjoy~
The day began with the roll-in as participants arrived at the Toyota Museum. From rare classics to modern Mazda models, the diverse lineup showcased the passion and appreciation for Mazda’s past and present.
With every vehicle in place, the full lineup highlighted the incredible variety of Mazda’s 5 Channel era alongside modern Mazda models. After taking in the full display, it was time to get a closer look at each vehicle and appreciate the unique details that set every build apart.
First up is the Mazda Lantis, a distinctive model that perfectly represents Mazda’s creative approach during the 5 Channel era. With its sleek styling and unique character, it remains a favorite among enthusiasts today.
Next up is the Mazda Familia, a model that became a staple of Mazda’s lineup thanks to its practical design, engaging driving dynamics, and strong motorsport heritage.
The variety continued with an impressive mix of Mazda models spanning multiple generations. From classics like the Bongo, Demio, Festiva, Luce, MS-9, Presso, and Revue to newer favorites such as the Mazda2 and Mazda3, the diverse lineup showcased just how broad and unique Mazda’s history has been.
Next up is the Mazda Carol, one of Mazda’s most charming and recognizable kei cars. Originally introduced in the 1960s, the Carol has remained a beloved part of Mazda’s history with its compact design, unique character, and timeless appeal.
Making its appearance in the lineup is the Mazda Capella, a model with a long and important history in Mazda’s lineup. Known in many markets as the Mazda 626, the Capella served as one of Mazda’s core midsize vehicles and showcased the brand’s evolution through multiple generations of design, technology, and driving performance.
Among the many iconic Mazda models at the event was the Eunos Roadster, a vehicle that has become a symbol of lightweight performance and pure driving enjoyment. Known globally as the MX-5 Miata, the Roadster continues to represent Mazda’s philosophy of creating cars that connect drivers with the road.
A standout collection at the event was Mazda’s legendary rotary lineup, featuring the Cosmo, FC RX-7, FD RX-7, and RX-8. Each model represents a unique chapter in Mazda’s rotary history, showcasing the brand’s dedication to innovation, performance, and the pursuit of the unique driving experience that only a rotary engine can deliver.
