KASHIMUS SIX

The challenge to stand out of the crowd is already hard enough. But, when you are given nearly no automotive support trying to look different gets even harder. Here we have a good example of taking what everyone else is doing, and making it your own with Kash Verhage‘s 2015 Meteor Gray Mica Mazda 6 from Spokane, Washington.

Enjoy this video and photos by SES Films.

So, how did you get into cars and into the Mazda 6?

“…Well my uncle was a car guy. Growing up he would take me to drag races and car shows. About a year after high school Fast and Furious came out. But everyone was in a Honda. I started looking at imports in a different way. Eventually I was looking for a fast AWD car. Subarus were everywhere. I wanted something different. Found a Mazdaspeed 6…”

“…Bought that and owned it for like 5 years. Grew tired of it and my buddy had a new Mazda 6. Traded the speed in for my current 6. Was never meant to be what it is today. I liked the styling cues of the 6 at the time.”

What inspired your styling and modifications for the 6?

“Years ago I went to a show in Seattle called “StanceWars.” That was my first taste of the fitment world. I told my buddy that I wanted to do that show. 2 years later I made it in the top 100 of that show. I started doing local car shows and wanted to push more on the stuff done to the 6. I like the complements on how “clean” the car and aggressive the car is.”

Biggest challenge with getting the 6 how you would like it?

“Lack of aftermarket support. Only a few companies make anything significant for the 6. A lot of cars running the same body kits. Challenging part is how to be unique with the same kit as the other guys.”

What future plans are there?

“Reached out to a company to develop a wide body for the 6. Should be done this month. Also got a new set of killer wheels waiting to go on. Interior and trunk setup are currently being changed up a bit.”

Anyone you want to thank or give a shout out to?

“First would be Branden Edwards for always helping me work on my car, and driving the miles with me (You just did his RX-8).  Also thanks to all the boys in First Impressionz club. Sean, Brian, Kiernan and Nate. Also big thanks to William Tollefson for always giving me insight.”
